About the opportunity
Do you live for solving complex problems and delivering top-notch software? Daedalus has the right challenge for you! We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who's keen about delivering and advancing our innovative software stack for real-time management of complex industrial processes that pushes the limits of what’s possible in manufacturing.
What you'll do at Daedalus
  • Build and ship the tech stack that runs our factory of the future. This includes but is not limited to scheduling, workflow orchestration, and computer vision and AI for data-driven automation, and distributed systems. We have a wide range of systems and challenges and are looking for generalists who are comfortable working on all parts of the stack
  • Own systems end to end, with a focus on shipping advanced automation features and making them work in the real work, jumping in to fill in all technical pieces where needed as we're emphasizing a holistic approach to software development
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions with an expert user base and a variety of real-time industrial hardware
  • Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of our software system
  • Work closely with our product team to develop user stories and drive the conversation around what are the best opportunities to add business value
Who you are
  • 5+ years of experience working with software systems using at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python)
  • Proven experience in shipping real software products, preferably with experience solving hard technical challenges (e.g. distributed systems/cloud/infrastructure, real-time systems such as robotics) or working in complex enterprise domains
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Have a passion for shipping and solving problems end-to-end and seeing the impact of your work, not getting lost in technical details
  • Eagerness to develop generalist skills and delivering value-add from technology
  • You have experience in using modern technologies to build whatever is needed, and can pick the best tool for the task at hand. At Daedalus, we currently use Python, Django, React.JS, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, and Bazel, among a variety of other tech
What's in it for you
  • Work with purpose and ambition in one of the most exciting and innovative manufacturing facilities in Germany
  • Close collaboration with an international team from the fields of manufacturing, artificial intelligence, software, robotics, and operations
  • Free lunch, fruits, and drinks every day
  • 30 days of vacation
  • Capital-forming benefits
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan
  • Bike leasing via BusinessBike
  • Regular team events (e.g. summer party, barbecue evenings, Christmas party, etc.)
